إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ١
When the sky is torn apart
Surah 82 · 19 Ayahs
Al-Infitar
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy
- وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ٢
when the stars are scattered
- وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ٣
when the seas burst forth
- وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ٤
when graves turn inside out
- عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ٥
each soul will know what it has done and what it has left undone
- يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ٦
Mankind, what has lured you away from God
- الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ٧
your generous Lord, who created you, shaped you, proportioned you
- فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ٨
in whatever form He chose
- كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ٩
Yet you still take the Judgement to be a lie
- وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ١٠
Over you stand
- كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ١١
watchers, noble recorders
- يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ١٢
who know what you do
- إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ١٣
the good will live in bliss
- وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ١٤
and the wicked will burn in the Fire
- يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ١٥
They will enter it on the Day of Judgement
- وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ١٦
and they will find no escape
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ١٧
What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is
- ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ١٨
Yes! What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is
- يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ١٩
The Day when no soul will be able to do anything for another; on that Day, command will belong to God
