وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ١
Woe to every fault-finding backbiter
Surah 104 · 9 Ayahs
Al-Humazah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy
- الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ٢
who amasses riches, counting them over
- يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ٣
thinking they will make him live for ever
- كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ٤
No indeed! He will be thrust into the Crusher
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ٥
What will explain to you what the Crusher is
- نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ٦
It is God’s Fire, made to blaze
- الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ٧
which rises over people’s hearts
- إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ٨
It closes in on them
- فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ٩
in towering columns
